OVERVIEW
Soraya is a restaurant concept serving Persian cuisine with a modern twist. Soraya means "gem" or "jewel," and is representive of the aura that Persian culture exudes. This notion of jewels appears in design motifs There's always something extra or some sort of unspoken elegance to Persian culture that can only an individual can experience for themselves. Therefore, Soraya Restaurant brings part of that long-standing elegance to somewhere new.
Essentially, its also an attempt at mixing Western ideas with Non-Western traditional values and aesthetics in the form of a casual dining experience. With that said, the hope is to create a unique identity and environment of bringing two different cultures into one shared experience.

PROCESS AND IDEATION
Inspiration for Soraya was taken from not only the meaning of the name itself but its association with royalty, natural landscape of what was the Persian Empire, the language, and the culture.
